I time travelled more than 2,300 years into the past to meet one of the most legendary conquerors in human history — Alexander the Great or Alexander III of Macedon I wanted to see what his world actually looked like So I travelled through ancient Macedonia, watched the young Alexander rise to the throne, followed his army across Asia, witnessed his battles against the Persian Empire, saw Babylon at the height of its glory, and followed his journey all the way to his final days. But meeting Alexander himself was nothing like I expected. I saw the victories that made him legendary, the decisions that terrified the people around him, the friendships he lost, the empire he built — and the moments that eventually began to destroy him.
