Godzilla vs Tokyo (Fan Animation)

I got the idea for this animation during 2025's Godzilla Fest, then began working on it in January of this year. And it took this long to make for reasons I'll detail below to those interested. I shared a personal update a few months ago, saying my animation progress would be slow due to health concerns and various family issues. Those have mostly been solved since then, but they had some long term effects on me. In 2025, I worked much harder and faster to pump out new animations every month or so. This year, I couldn't keep that pace up anymore and this short clip is the only totally new animation I managed to make. For a long time, I just couldn't animate. There were multiple days when I opened Blender... and nothing came to my mind. I couldn't plan out shots, had no energy to move the models around, it's like I had brain fog. I don't know whether it's burnout from all the private matters me and my family have been dealing with, lingering effects of health issues, general everyday depression or lethargy, or just plain laziness. Whatever it was, it stalled progress heavily. Such a video should only take a couple months to make, not eight. The hellish heat dome that fried Europe this summer and for some reason targeted the Carpathian Basin in specific didn't help matters either. You can see the result of this in the animation. The editing in the first half is especially poor because I removed some shots and shuffled others around. I wanted to add so many things but lacked the focus to properly animate them. Planning out the second half of the video went comparatively smoothly, though nearly every shot had to be re-animated multiple times to pin down the timing and the effects. It was a very long and demanding process for such a stupidly simple video idea, but I hope you can get some enjoyment out of it, or at least admire the pretty colors.
