What Happened to Vikings Who Broke Their Leader’s Rules?

What happened to Vikings who broke their leader’s rules? In Viking society, breaking the rules could cost more than silver. It could cost reputation, protection, family support, and even a person’s place in the community. This documentary explores Viking law, punishment, compensation, public shame, revenge, exile, and outlawry — the punishment that could leave a man outside the protection of society. Because in the Viking world, one mistake could follow you for the rest of your life. #Vikings #VikingHistory #NorseHistory #HistoryDocumentary #MedievalHistory
