Sea Kayaking the North East Passage - Aberdour - Troup Head.

I don't know where to start with this one, it was one of the most excellent, interesting, varied, trips, I've ever done. I left Stonehaven after the last paddle, as the weather turned grim again. Now the ONLY reason, I would ever have visited Pennan, was because the film 'Local Hero' was filmed there in 1982. In much the same way, I only went to Boscastle, to see what it was like after the famous flood. Both experiences have been wonderful, and it's an example of how being inquisitive, and adventurous can be rewarding. I viewed a lot of this coastline through binoculars from Troup Head, the previous day, and I would have missed out the first part of the trip, if I hadn't, probably launching at Pennan. The first part of the trip was just absolute Kayak heaven, it is the most unique, fabulous little place, I was SO impressed. A number of other paddlers I met shared the same opinion, so I knew I was on to something. The second part passes Pennan, and leads to another totally amazing, unique place. The cliffs of Lion'Head are spectacular, and eerie in equal measure. Finally there is Troup Head and the Gannet colony. I've really just brushed the surface of what's on offer here, and still ended up with a 35min video, I could have easily made it an hour, possibly hour and half. But don't worry, I do the first half of thee trip again, only in BETTER conditions, and then Troup Head from the other end, the wonderful Gardenstown Harbour.
