The factory rated these cars at 245 HP and 360 ft. lbs., making them the fastest American production car of their day, and they get that power from a turbocharged V-6, an unusual power plant that has earned respect among classic muscle car fans. In this RestoMods Features episode, Frank tells how his 1987 Buick Grand National came into the family through his grandfather's and father's dealership, and why the intercooled 1986-87 G-body cars are so sought after. We walk around the car, check out the cloth interior, then look under the hood at the bigger turbo, bigger injectors, alcohol injection and three-inch exhaust that make the Grand National so quick. Frank has also lowered the car about two inches, added 18-inch GNX replica wheels and plans to run E85 next.
