New Boat. New Adventure. Meet Walu. A Catana 47 Sailing Catamaran: Episode 43

After saying goodbye to Yama, it was time to start the search for our next chapter. In this episode, I fly to New Caledonia to inspect a 2013 Catana 47 that had caught our attention. What followed was a whirlwind of inspections, negotiations, paperwork, repairs, upgrades, setbacks, long days in the boatyard, and finally getting her back in the water for our first shakedown sail 5 MONTHS LATER. This wasn't a polished boat-buying experience. There were plenty of challenges behind the scenes, and honestly, there were many days where recording VIDEO was the last thing on my mind. But we managed to capture enough of the journey to bring you along for the ride. You'll also see the official renaming ceremony as Yama's replacement becomes "Walu" and begins her next chapter with the Tidal Trekkers family.
