Christa Pike, 50, is scheduled to be executed at Riverbend Maximum Security Institution in Nashville on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at 10 a.m. Central. On Monday, September 28, Governor Bill Lee denied clemency. Before learning of his decision, she wrote in a letter to NBC News: "Whether my clemency is granted or not, I am at peace." She also wrote that she is "only nervous about the process." Her attorneys asked for an all-female team. The state said it would make every effort. The physician expected to take part is a man, Dr. Mark Walton Fowler, who was involved in the execution of Tony Carruthers that Tennessee called off in May.
