Flying Fifteen Championship of Ireland 2017

Episode 22 was filmed over the weekend of 9th and 10th September. Although I’m not an avid sailor, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to film some of the top sailors compete in the Flying Fifteen Championship of Ireland. I got to speak to some great characters and fine athletes, including Steve Goacher, the World Champion in this sport. Plus, I got some great footage of the sailing boats during the race. One question I forgot to ask during my time at the County Antrim Yacht Club, was this … why are they called Flying Fifteens? Can anybody tell me? A note on the sound ... I had the microphone tucked inside my collar to stop it getting wet. That was too close, which is why some of the sound peaks and is barely useable. I'll know better next time.
