All The Way For Spoonbill Babies

Some people travel 200 km for a holiday. I travelled 200 km to see spoonbill babies in a nest. And then travelled 200 km back. With my entire family. Including my 80-year-old mother. Because apparently, seeing baby birds is now a perfectly reasonable excuse for making an 80-year-old grandmother spend half a day on the road. 😄 I have no defence. There were spoonbills. There were babies. I had to go. My family has, by now, accepted that this is what happens when they travel with me. A normal family outing can suddenly turn into a long-distance expedition because I have heard that somewhere, some bird is sitting on a nest with babies. And honestly, I am not even sorry. These little spoonbill babies were worth the journey — at least I think so. My family may have a slightly different opinion. 😂 Here they are, completely unaware of the 400 km round trip they caused. Some people collect souvenirs from their travels. I collect baby birds.
