St Pierre Country Club Chepstow Wedding Photos Capturing St Pierre Country Club Chepstow Wedding Photos offers a remarkable blend of historic charm, picturesque Monmouthshire countryside, and seamless convenience. Set within 400 acres of parkland with a 14th-century church right on-site, Delta Hotels St Pierre Country Club provided an idyllic backdrop for Kirsty and Chris’s July wedding. As a documentary wedding photographer, my focus was strictly on capturing the genuine, unscripted emotion of the day as it naturally unfolded. Church Wedding Ceremony The morning began with both prep sessions taking place on the estate. Chris finalised his preparations over in the lodges by the hotel grounds before heading over to greet arriving guests, while Kirsty got ready nearby in Rose Cottage with her maid of honour. Having both preparations on-site keeps the morning completely unhurried, allowing for natural, quiet moments between close family and friends before walking down the aisle. The ceremony took place in St Peter’s Church, located just steps away on the country club grounds. Accompanied by the gentle music of a harpist and officiated by Reverend John Waters, the service was a beautifully focused celebration. Following the vows, guests gathered outside the church doors for a lively shower of confetti, immediately followed by the family group photos against the historic stonework. Speeches, Dining, and Evening Portraits After a formal receiving line to welcome guests into the reception room, the couple made their grand entrance. Kirsty and Chris opted to hold their speeches prior to the wedding breakfast. Getting the toasts out of the way early is always a brilliant strategy – it lets the speakers relax completely and enjoy their meal, while yielding fantastic, candid reactions across the tables. Later in the evening, we took a short, unposed walk around the grounds for couple portraits. My photojournalistic approach keeps these sessions swift and completely natural, capturing authentic connection without turning your day into a staged photoshoot. The celebrations rounded off with the cake cutting and first dance, bringing a wonderful day to a close. Tips for Planning a St Pierre Country Club Wedding Take Advantage of the On-Site Church: Having St Peter’s Church directly on the estate grounds eliminates travel logistics entirely. Guests can walk effortlessly from ceremony to reception, maximizing your time to mingle during drinks. Schedule Speeches Before the Meal: Holding speeches before the wedding breakfast breaks the ice for the room and ensures everyone can dine without pre-speech nerves hanging over the table. Plan Evening Portraits for Soft Light: Summer weddings offer glorious late-day light. Scheduling a quick 15-minute break for portraits after dinner lets you enjoy the best light across the country club grounds while avoiding the midday heat.
