What if you never needed sleep again? You'll spend more than 26 years of your life asleep. But what if you could get all of that time back? In this animated short, we follow one person who wakes up one night and realizes he'll never be tired again. We look at what sleep actually does for your brain and body, what happened in the famous 1964 experiment where 17-year-old Randy Gardner stayed awake for 11 days, and what the first week, the first months, and the first year of endless time might look like. More hours means more reading, more languages, more music, more work. But it also means a silent, empty city at 3 AM, and nobody to share the time with. Maybe sleep was never lost time. Maybe it's the pause between chapters. ⏱ Chapters 0:00 The 26 years you spend asleep 0:15 What your brain does while you sleep 0:30 Randy Gardner, 1964 0:50 Week one: all the extra time 1:15 Month three 1:30 The city at 3 AM 1:50 One year later 2:10 The last dream 2:20 Did you sleep well?
