University of Catania | An Engine of Innovation in the Mediterranean

Founded in 1434, the University of Catania today aspires to be much more than an academic institution: we are the beating heart and a primary economic driver of Sicily. With over 40,000 students and a workforce of approximately 2,500, the University operates as a major global enterprise deeply integrated into the city's fabric. From cutting-edge research and medical excellence to the green transition, UNICT serves as a bridge between knowledge and the global market. Our goal? To transform Catania into a hub capable of attracting talent and investment, leading innovation in the heart of the Mediterranean.
