This is a ASMR style wood turning video making an unique apple piece from a quite rotten log. In fact the log was a lot more rotten than I first thought. Woodturning for me has always been about discovery, finding the beauitful forms and shapes that are lying gracefully inside a piece of wood waiting to be discovered. I only ever have a vague idea of what I'm trying to do when i start a turning and its the process of discovery that i find most interesting. After the piece is turned i can often see where the ideas have come from but in the moment of making I feel that it sort of evolves on its own. I hope you enjoy the video and would love to hear your views on it. I am a woodturner working on the West coast of Ireland. I use wood that I salvage or find or that get blown down in storms, of which we have a lot of. I try to find ways to show the best of each piece of wood that I get.
