A School Without Benches? | The Reality of Education at a District School in Dombivli, India

What does this tell us about educational inequality and the learning environment children need to thrive? In this short documentary by Sarvamangal Education Trust, we spend a day with students, teachers, and school management to understand their experiences and the challenges they face. During our visit, we saw students learning in classrooms without proper benches and with limited basic facilities, including an inadequate blackboard and a lack of suitable seating arrangements. We interacted with the teachers and school management, spent time with the children, conducted fun activities, and distributed food packets and stationery pouches. The school management also appealed to viewers, volunteers, and well-wishers to come forward and support the school so that children can learn in a safer, more comfortable, and better-equipped environment.
