Mujh se pehli, si muha..bbat mere mehboob na maang
[Don't ask for the love of the old days my beloved. ]
--antra#1
Mein ne samjha thha ke, tu hai | to darakh'shaan hai hayaat
[I used to feel your presence would keep my life brighter]
Tera gham hai.. to | gham-e-dahar ka jhagdaa kya hai
[I used to feel if I could share your grief, I wouldn't have to focus on my worldly fights]
Teri soorat se hai | aalam mein bahaaron ko sa-baat..
Teri aankhon ke | siwa dunya mein, rakkha.. kya hai..
[You presence would be enough to keep my world in eternal spring, there is nothing better in the world than the sight of your eyes.]
To jo mil jaaye to | taqdeer nigoon ho jaaye
Yun na thha.. mein ne faqat, chaaha thha yun ho jaaye'
[I thought having you in my life, would turn my fate around it was not to be, yet I wished for it to be so simple. For there are other sorrows in the world, apart from the anguish of love, there are other reliefs, more potent than the relief of our reunion. ]
antra#2
aan-ginat sadiyon ke,taareek | bahi'manaa talism
Resham-o-atlas-o| kam'khwaa..b mein, bunwaaye huey
Jaa-ba-jaa biktey hue koochaa-o-bazaar mein jism
Khaak mein luthdey huey, khoon mein nehlaaye huey
[Centuries spent bound in the dark enchantment/magic,bodies draped in knitted silk & satin, are up for sales in the alleys and marketplaces,
soaked in ashes, drenched in blood]
Laut jaati hai, udhar ko bhi nazar.. kya kijye
Ab bhi dilkash hai, tera husn magar | kya kijye..
[Yet I cannot look away my love! your beauty is still as alluring as ever, yet I cannot look away from the grief and destruction around me! ]
Aur bhi dukh hain, zamaane mein mohabbat ke siwaa
Rahatein aur bhi hain, wasl ki raahat ke siwa
[There are other sorrows in the world, apart from the anguish of love, there are other reliefs, more potent than the relief of our reunion. ]
Mujh se pehli si muhabbat, mere mehboob na maang
Mujh se pehli si muhabbat, mere mehboob na maa'aanng...
