Time Team's Phil Harding presents the Battle for North Gate

Time Team is delighted to share this special Lockdown Lecture, originally created for #WaterlooWeek by Waterloo Uncovered and Wessex Archaeology. Our very own Phil Harding talks us through the 'battle within a battle' that took place at Waterloo, and, according to the Duke of Wellington, turned the tides of the battle in the Allies' favour: the Battle for the North Gate at Hougoumont! For more information about the wonderful work of Waterloo Uncovered, check out: https://www.waterloouncovered.com    / waterloouncovered   To donate and support its archaeological discoveries and work in veteran wellbeing and recovery, please visit: https://waterloouncovered.com/donate/ Waterloo Uncovered is a registered UK charity that combines a world‐class archaeology project on the battlefield of Waterloo with veteran care and recovery. Working in partnership with some of Europe’s top universities, and through the unique perspective of a team comprised of archaeologists, veterans, and serving soldiers, Waterloo Uncovered aims to understand war and its impact on people — and to educate the public about it.
