FANTASIA SURABAYA NO. 8 for two violins and piano - Pour Triple Yo (2026)

The composition’s main title is called Fantasia Surabaya as the response of composer’s admirement to the city’s beauty and its esthetic. The number eight is called Pour Triple Yo, a group of musicians that consists of three siblings of Panggabean family, namely Yosua Jeremy “Gabe” Hasudungan Panggabean, Yohana Grace Uli Panggabean and Yosefin Joyful Glory Panggabean, hence the name Triple Yo due to their name begins from “Yo” (   / @tripleyo  . The composer met them at the Gala Concert of Bandung Philharmonic in 2025 among other Surabayan young musicians. Like Tavia, Lovely, Serena, Ezra, etc., they are highly musically gifted. Therefore this Fantasia express the composer’s admiration towards them. What makes this Fantasia so unique is that the composition is in Rondo form, meaning it is ABA’CDA” with many variations of the main theme. Unlike other Fantasias, the composer decides not to use any Rek Ayo Rek direct quotation (if any then implicitly), but using the cryptographical methods of their name to be encrypted into the melody line as usual. The choice of Rondo represents their unique character based on their name and musical expressions and articulations, where the main theme is considered to be an identity of Triple Yo themselves as a group of musical siblings, as it’s expressed three times of the main theme part based on the Rondo basic form with their variated expressions.
