Mike Ditka Just Died at 86 — Football's TOUGHEST Man

Mike Ditka — "Iron Mike," Da Coach, the man who redefined the tight end and led the 1985 Bears to their only Super Bowl — died Friday at 86. This is the story of the toughest man football ever made: a 1961 rookie who changed the position forever, a coach who went 15–1 and crushed the Patriots 46–10 in Super Bowl XX, a sideline fire so hot it became an SNL legend — and the final words his family just shared with the world. Featuring tributes from Roger Goodell, the Chicago Bears, head coach Ben Johnson, Chris Berman, and the Pat McAfee Show. 00:00 — The News Hits 00:46 — Aliquippa: Where Iron Mike Was Forged 01:14 — 1961: The Rookie Who Changed Everything 03:54 — The '85 Bears: 15–1 and 46–10 05:19 — 1988: The Heart Attack 05:58 — The Fire 10:08 — 'Da Coach': The SNL Legend 11:04 — The Quote Machine 11:32 — Tributes Pour In 16:31 — "I Want to Live to Be 150" SOURCES / CREDIT Archival footage: NFL Films ("A Football Life – Mike Ditka")    • A Football Life - Mike Ditka HD  ; ESPN ("Remembering Mike Ditka: Full Day of Coverage")    • Remembering Mike Ditka: ESPN's Full Day of...  ; ESPN / Pat McAfee Show tribute    • Pat McAfee remembers the life and legacy o...  ; The Pat McAfee Show ("Remembering The Legendary Mike Ditka")    • Remembering The Legendary Mike Ditka: One ...  ; Chicago Bears official tribute    • Remembering Mike Ditka | Chicago Bears  ; QB Confessions ("Jim McMahon Reveals Why He Kept Defying Mike Ditka")    • Видео  ; Bubba the Love Sponge 2003 Ditka interview    • Mike Ditka on Walter Payton, Warren Sapp &...  ; Late Show with David Letterman (9/14/1993)    • Remembering Mike Ditka | David Letterman  ; "Mike Ditka Rants"    • Mike Ditka Rants (Includes "Ditkith")  ; ESPN radio ("Ditka Challenges A Caller")    • Mike Ditka Challenges A Caller "Neal From ...  ; Saturday Night Live ("Bill Swerski's Super Fans: Thanksgiving", NBC)    • Bill Swerski's Super Fans: Thanksgiving - SNL  .
