Wayfarer – Oboe Practice | Terrence Wong | Adrian Chiang

Practise along with the Oboe part of «Wayfarer» by Terrence Wong, for concert band. Your printed part is shown on screen and a cursor follows the music bar by bar. There is a three click count-in into the pickup, a soft metronome on every beat (in the 7/8 bars it clicks the 2+2+3 groups), and the rest of the band playing quietly underneath you. In long rests the bar counter at the top shows where you are. Tempo: Grandioso ♩ = 80 at the start, with excitement ♩ = 144 from bar 33 (movements II and III), Tempo I ♩ = 80 from bar 123 and Grandioso ♩ = 72 from bar 148, with the rit. and rallentando markings slowing into each change. The current tempo is always shown at the top right of the screen. How to practise with this video 1. Listen once and follow the highlighted bar. 2. Play along softly first, then with full tone. 3. Use the chapters below to repeat the sections you find tricky. 4. If a passage is too fast, set YouTube's playback speed to 0.75 and build up from there. 5. In long rests, watch the bar counter so you come in at the right place. The audio is computer generated from the printed part, with your part at full volume and the rest of the band softer underneath. It sounds at concert pitch. Spotted a wrong note or rhythm?
