What does it mean that yashar-el is above the stars The second lesson is non-attachment. A complicated story but non the less, After Isaac is born, Abraham is willing to let him go entirely at the Akedah, sacrifice his son. A ram is sacrificed instead, and its horn becomes the shofar we blow throughout Elul. Shofar has many meanings and perhaps one of them could be symbol and ritual of letting go of attachment to outcome.
