We often mistake the brokenness of our current reality for the original design of our Creator, leading us to question God’s goodness when we face suffering or chaos. This teaching clarifies that sin is an intruder, not the author of our story, and that the fundamental nature of God remains good despite the distortion caused by human rebellion. We are invited to stop blaming the Creator for the damage done by creation and instead look to Jesus, who perfectly reflects the image we were made to bear. Pastor Jose Mateo walks through Genesis 1 to establish that God is the uncaused cause, acting with purposeful grace rather than random chance. He explains that humanity was created specifically to represent God’s image and goodness within the earth, a role we failed to fulfill in Genesis 3. The sermon then pivots to the gospel, showing how Jesus is the true Image of God who bore our failure on the cross.
