1. Salem, MA Before the Crowds: A Quiet October Morning Walk (Oct 3, 2026)

Saturday, October 3, 2026, a little after 8:30 in the morning. This is Salem, Massachusetts in the quiet hour before the first big October weekend crowds arrive: a 49-minute loop from Old Town Hall down to Pickering Wharf, out past Collins Cove, across Salem Common and back to Essex Street. One take, no narration. It starts on the Essex Street pedestrian mall while vendors are still putting up their tents, then passes the Peabody Essex Museum and the Hawthorne Hotel and heads down to the water. The shops on Pickering Wharf haven't opened yet (Coven, Stardust, Circle of Stitches, Popped!), and the boardwalk along the marina is empty. From there it's Sea Level Oyster Bar, Derby Street, and Salem Maritime, where the Friendship of Salem is tied up at Derby Wharf beside the Custom House. Then the House of the Seven Gables and a long stretch of old residential streets east of downtown, where a road race is marking its mile two, before you reach the open water at Collins Cove. The loop comes back past St. Nicholas Orthodox Church to Salem Common, where the Haunted Happenings Marketplace is still setting up, and finishes at the Salem Witch Museum, the Hawthorne Hotel and Essex Street, just as the town begins to fill.
