One Year On: Remembering Singapore’s First MRT Train — The KHI C151 (featuring trainset 015/016)

In this special 1-year anniversary tribute of the Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) C151 decommissioning that took place on 26 Sept 2025, I feature a selection of historical photographs of these legendary workhouses, captured during its early years when I was still a young child. I also give special mention to trainset 015/016 in the rest of the video, which made history on several occasions throughout its service life — from being the inaugural trainset to ferry several VIPs, including then-Second Deputy Prime Minister Ong Teng Cheong, one of the key political champions and visionaries behind Singapore's MRT network; to ultimately becoming the last C151 trainset to be scrapped on 18 Sept 2026, after successfully completing a trial run of the CASCO Smart Automatic Train Control (SATC) signalling system, which concluded in July 2026.
