Empire State trail (Day 5. Southbury CT - Fishkill NY)

Connecticut gives me all at has with punishment-by-hill but I still make it to the state line of New York and connect with the empire trail. We make a stop at the Sandy Hook permanent memorial in Newtown CT and discover it to be very peaceful and reflective. Then on to Fishkill via the Empire Trail. Oh, but first a stop into Trader Joe’s to get a carnitas/black bean burrito for lunch. And even waking up to a tire that had lost 1/2 its air overnight couldn’t stop me from completing the day.
