Blanka B. Stachelek -- 'Secret City' (first performance)

The Concert took place on the 28th of November 2014 at Adrian Boult Hall at Birmingham Conservatoire. Conductor - Richard Baker (composer and conductor - http://rchrdbkr.com/) Brilliantly performed by Thallein Ensemble. Secret City - Foreword The piece was written for Thallein Ensemble specially for tonight’s concert. Secret City is a compound artificial landscape presenting musical ideas through the juxtaposition and repetition of 'static blocks' – ‘buildings’. I will walk you through the city in which you may have or have never been to. Imagine yourself in a big square in the city center at the start of the piece. Then I will guide you through the little side streets and will show you some hidden intimate places in the city. The tour ends at the fountains in the secret city square. B.B. Stachelek, Nov 2014
