Robert Newlon Field - Huntington, WV - Light Sport Pilot 020(4K) - N234YP- TL Sting S3

We used the AirfieldGuide™ website to pick a new place for a spontaneous airplane camping adventure. Even though it was early spring, we decided to try camping, but made sure we had an out, in case it was too cold! The weather seemed perfect and we headed out from Nashville to Robert Newlon Field, a beautiful private airport right on the Ohio River just east of Huntington, West Virginia. Robert Newlon Field (I41) has a beautiful 3000ft grass runway, and plenty of fun things to do in the area. On the way, the broken layer became a solid layer about half way. We made the last part of the trip below the low clouds in the bumpy air. It was a great trip, full of unexpected adventures!
