2 OR 4? HOW MANY TIMES WILL CHRIST COME? Christ’s Return Explained

ENGLISH DESCRIPTION How Many Times Will Christ Come? Is It 2 or 4? | Christ’s Return Explained How many “comings” of Christ are mentioned in the New Testament? Is Christ coming 2 times or 4 times? In this Bible Decode sermon, we examine what the New Testament actually means when it uses the language of Christ’s “coming.” The Bible uses “coming” in different contexts. In this lesson, we examine four important biblical contexts: 1. Christ’s coming in His Kingdom 2. Christ’s coming in judgment upon Jerusalem in A.D. 70 3. Christ’s coming in judgment against unfaithful congregations 4. Christ’s final Second Coming Does this mean that Jesus literally comes to earth four different times? No. The important principle is to allow the context to determine the meaning. The destruction of Jerusalem in A.D. 70 should not be confused with the final Second Coming, resurrection, and final judgment. The final coming of Christ remains a future biblical promise. Bible Passages Examined Matthew 16:27-28 Mark 9:1 Luke 9:26-27 Daniel 7:13-14 Acts 1:8 Acts 1:11 Acts 2:1-4 Acts 2:33-36 Colossians 1:13 Matthew 24:1-34 Luke 21:20-28 Revelation 2:5, 16 John 5:28-29 1 Thessalonians 4:16 Matthew 25:46 2 Peter 3:10-13 1 Corinthians 15:22-26 The Most Important Question We may ask: “When will Christ come?” But the more important question is: “Will I be ready when Christ comes?” Let us study the Scriptures carefully, allow the Bible to interpret the Bible, and prepare our lives for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
