Trust in God Lyrics

For church worship. "Trust in God" by Elevation Worship is a powerful declaration of faith, reminding us that our confidence is not found in our circumstances, our abilities, or the things of this world, but in Jesus Christ, our Savior, who remains faithful through every season of life. Released in 2023 on the album CAN YOU IMAGINE?, this worship song features Chris Brown and draws inspiration from the beloved hymn "Blessed Assurance." Elevation Worship is the worship ministry of Elevation Church, based in Charlotte, North Carolina, known for songs that encourage believers to worship God, trust His promises, and proclaim the hope found in Jesus Christ. The song beautifully connects several biblical truths. Daniel 3:24–25 reminds us of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fiery furnace, where a fourth figure appeared with them. Their story reminds us that God is able to sustain His people even in the midst of life's fiercest trials. Proverbs 3:5–6 calls us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts rather than lean on our own understanding, acknowledging Him in all our ways. Psalm 34:4 declares that David sought the Lord, and the Lord answered him and delivered him from his fears. This passage provides the biblical foundation for the song's repeated testimony of seeking God and receiving His answer. Ephesians 1:7 reminds us that through Jesus Christ we have redemption through His blood and the forgiveness of our sins according to the riches of His grace. And Hebrews 10:23 encourages us to hold firmly to our confession of hope because the One who promised is faithful. The message of "Trust in God" is not that believers will never experience suffering, disappointment, or uncertainty. Scripture never makes that promise. Rather, it reminds us that God remains faithful even when life is difficult, His salvation is secure in Christ, and His promises can be trusted. Our greatest assurance is not that everything in this life will go the way we hope, but that through Jesus Christ, we belong to the One who holds eternity in His hands. May this song encourage you to seek the Lord, remember His faithfulness, and place your trust fully in Jesus Christ.
