The 1970s produced some of the strangest and most outrageous motorcycles ever built. While Japanese manufacturers dominated the headlines, European engineers were creating machines that pushed performance, design, and technology to the extreme. From the revolutionary Hercules W-2000 rotary motorcycle and six-cylinder Benelli 750 Sei to the legendary BMW R90S, Ducati 750 Super Sport, Laverda Jota, Münch Mammut, and ultra-rare Van Veen OCR 1000, these forgotten bikes challenged everything riders expected from a motorcycle. Some were brutally fast, some technologically radical, and some spectacular commercial failures. This is the story of ten incredible European motorcycles that deserve to be remembered.
