Alan Wake 2 Part 3 - Cultists, Taken, And Opening The Overlap We pick up in the police station and debrief with Casey about what just happened with Nightingale. We need to go back to Cauldron Lake and investigate a way to open the Overlap to enter the dark place. We check on the remaining police officers on our way out, then drive over to Cauldron Lake and search for Nightingale's missing heart. Here we start encountering our first taken wandering these woods, and practice taking them down and hiding in the light. Our search takes us to the general store, where we meet our first cultist donning a deer mask. In the back room, we find the heart, and we also manage to grab a shotgun that will help us defend ourselves from these nightmares. We take the heart to the Witches Ladle, and shove it through the sign as the key top opening the overlap. We enter, and will explore this strange place, next time.
