This video is about the historical relationship between England and France, not present-day events. After years of reading comments from our British viewers about France, we finally had to ask: are you all actually serious, or have we been watching an extremely long-running national inside joke? 😂 So we dove into the history between England and France, centuries of rivalry, war, alliances and the surprisingly complicated road from enemies to whatever the relationship is today. We knew bits and pieces of Anglo-French history, but nowhere near enough to explain why British people can mention France in the comments and immediately start taking the piss. By the end, we learned a lot about England and France, British-French rivalry and Anglo-French relations... and somehow we're still not entirely sure whether you two are together, separated, or just on the longest “it’s complicated” status in European history.
