Section X Was WILD This Week | Football, Soccer, Volleyball & More

Section X did NOT believe in taking it easy this week. Gouverneur stayed perfect with a 34-14 win over OFA. Potsdam recorded its THIRD shutout of the season. Hammond and Heuvelton remain unbeaten in league play with the West Division tightening up. Colby Todd scored FOUR goals for Madrid-Waddington. Chateaugay volleyball swept OFA and gave us plenty to think about before Power Rankings Monday. And that barely gets us started. Norwood-Norfolk represented Section X in a big way at the McQuaid Invitational, Canton remained unbeaten in girls swimming, the Section X Scoreboard Fan Zone collected more than 70 ballots, and the Top 5 Plays inbox is officially starting to cook. PLUS, Matt apparently can no longer quietly attend a Section X sporting event without being recognized by athletes wondering why they're ranked so low. This is The Week That Was in Section X, covering September 28 through October 3, 2026.
