Memory Stations

Memory Stations was an art & archive project initiated by ADKDW (Academy of the Arts of the World) in 2019. Curated by Aurora Rodonò and Madhusree Dutta. The project was perceived to build and nurture a participatory practice of history making and archiving in the post industrial region of Germany. It was spread across 5 cities in the state of North Rhine and Westphalia - Bochum, Cologne, Dortmund, Dusseldorf and Essen. Be a Public Historian was the call to invite the protagonists to participate in a public festival of memories by collecting and annotating their own personal, familial and communal memories of the ‘local’.
