Mopa Taxi Assault: Associates Deny Touting Angle, Cite Financial Dispute

Associates of a taxi driver involved in the October 14 assault at Mopa Airport have denied a taxi touting angle, claiming the dispute stemmed from financial transactions involving personal bank accounts. The assaulted driver had filed a police complaint against eight people, alleging the attack was linked to touting. The other driver’s associates have urged police to investigate the financial transactions and establish the facts. They also plan to raise the issue with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant during his visit to Pernem on Saturday, cautioning against linking the incident to taxi touting.
