Marketa, Rana, Pat, Suraj, Navi and Chris present their review for House of the Dragon 3x7, "The Dragon in Winter" Director - Nina Lopez-Corrado Writer - Philippa Goslett, Zenzele Price Spoiler Alert - In the penultimate episode, the balance of the dragon war shifts dramatically as Rhaenyra and Addam of Hull fly to the Vale, where they confront Daemon over the newly claimed wild dragon Sheepstealer, only to discover he was protecting his daughter Rhaena. A dragon battle breaks out, leaving Sheepstealer severely mauled by Caraxes before Rhaenyra spares Rhaena and returns her to King's Landing. Meanwhile, Aemond establishes Harrenhal as his personal seat, dismissing Rhaenyra's commoner dragonriders, but he soon collapses after drinking a nightshade tea given to him by Alicent and sensed by Alys. On the road to Braavos, Aegon, Larys Strong, and Tyland Lannister are ambushed by Team Black soldiers, but Aegon chooses to make a defiant last stand as a king, surviving when his heavily scarred dragon Sunfyre unexpectedly emerges from the trees to incinerate the attackers. The episode concludes with a massive betrayal when Ormund Hightower appeals to the vanity of the reckless Team Black rider Ulf the White, successfully flipping him to the Green side with the promise of Driftmark's lordship and setting up a devastating finale.
