Star Wars Episode X Plot Leak is Paint-by-Numbers Trash

The Star Wars Episode X plot leak just dropped and it is every bit as paint-by-numbers and uninspired as it sounds. According to the latest reports, Jon Watts’ Episode X will feature two new young leads (an orphaned guy implicated in a killing + a high-society princess) whose dynamic is basically Finn and Rey with a more explicit romance. Rey returns as their mentor while her standalone movie sits on hold. This is the same formula Lucasfilm has been running for years: scavenger/orphan gets pulled into the bigger story, meets a higher-status partner, and gets guided by a legacy character. After The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and The Rise of Skywalker, almost nobody wants to keep following Rey — and this leak proves they still haven’t gotten the message. In this video I break down the full leak details, why it feels so derivative, and why continuing the post-Rise of Skywalker timeline with Rey as the mentor figure is a mistake.
