With the famous UP 4014 "Big Boy" at the helm, the UP PCYRV began its westward trek departing Cheyenne around 9 and made stops at Harriman, Laramie, and Medicine Bow before ending the day at Rawlins around 1600 that evening. This western leg will end on April 24th upon returning to Cheyenne, and will feature stops across the western US between Wyoming and California, with an eastern leg set to take place later in the year. While the enormous crowds always make catching this train quite the challenge, with hundreds of people at some of the set stop locations, it is always a treat to get the chance to see this one of a kind locomotive still rolling the rails of America. This video also features some freight traffic, both from the day of the Big Boy excursion and a few clips from earlier in the month, including an SP patch leader.
