To mark National Older Adults Day, this webinar explored the vital role that good nutrition, hydration and movement can play in helping older people to live well and maintain their health and independence.
The webinar opened with Carmel Berke, Director of Wellbeing and Engagement at Age UK Salford and Trafford, who set the scene by exploring the importance of healthy ageing and why nutrition, hydration and movement are integral to supporting older people to live well.
We were also joined by Danny Woodworth, Partnership Manager at Merseyside Sport Partnership (MSP), who shared insights into MSP’s strategy and work to support older adults to stay physically active.
We then provided an overview of the 'Guide to good nutrition, hydration and movement for older adults' toolkit and training, including the launch of our new training module on physical activity and movement for older adults in care settings, alongside a range of accompanying resources to support staff and care settings to put the learning into practice.
