556th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji (also referred to as the “556th Baba Nanak Mela” in Punjab, Pakistan) is being organised in the Pakistani Punjab. Here are the security arrangements as reported: The provincial government of Punjab (Pakistan) has adopted a “zero-tolerance security plan” for the event. The event is scheduled from November 4 to November 14, 2025, with the main ceremony on November 5 at Gurdwara Janam Asthan, Nankana Sahib. Security deployment includes: Metal detectors installed at major gurdwaras. Deployment of Rangers, Police, Special Forces and the security wing of the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB). Additional immigration/entry counters at the Wagah Joint Check Post for incoming pilgrims.
