Cameo 967 B Cameo Dance Orchestra ARE YOU LONESOME TO-NIGHT?

“Are You Lonesome To-Night?” is a 1926 instrumental dance-band recording by the Cameo Dance Orchestra, reportedly led by Bob Haring. It has a smooth, sentimental Jazz Age character, presenting the melody as an orchestral dance number rather than a vocal performance. Importantly, this appears to be an earlier, different composition from the famous Lou Handman–Roy Turk song later recorded by Elvis Presley: sources associate the Cameo version with Roy Turk, Little, and Britt. The recording was reportedly made in New York on June 18, 1926 and issued as Cameo 967. The same recording also appeared on Lincoln 2540 and Romeo 250, with the Romeo issue credited to the Dixie Daisies. Release date: 1926, most likely summer 1926. I have not found a reliable source establishing an exact commercial release day, so 1926 is the safest date for this song.
