Blackwater Calling

Blackwater Calling is a dark Virginia swamp-rock ghost story about a man who follows a lantern into blackwater and finds something waiting in the fog. What starts as a search for his hound turns into a night of cypress, mud, old warnings, strange footsteps, and a woman humming somewhere beyond the reeds. By the time he realizes the swamp may be trying to warn him instead of take him, he is already too deep to turn back. Built around dirty slide guitar, low harmonica, crawling bass, sparse banjo, and a deep gravelly male vocal, Blackwater Calling is slow, humid, eerie, and dangerous — a Southern swamp tale told like an old legend.
