Ep 8: Coyote vs. Acme Review: The Movie They Tried to Kill

THE MOVIE HOLLYWOOD TRIED TO KILL! 💣 Wile E. Coyote Destroys the Box Office! | Elite Force Podcast Ep 8A Hollywood studio tried to completely incinerate a finished film for a corporate tax write-off, but the underdog just won the biggest theatrical victory of the decade! 💣💥 This week, the Elite Force Podcast points its single-topic lens at the 95% 'Certified Fresh' masterpiece, Coyote vs. Acme. We break down the incredible real-world war it took just to let audiences see this movie, and deliver a definitive, unfiltered review after hitting the theaters during its massive opening weekend [extract-clarify-key-attributes].Before we look at the screen, we hard-check the behind-the-scenes history of how we got here. From its 2022 origins as a $70 million streaming feature to the shocking corporate execution order—where executives filed for a $30 million tax write-down—we expose the terrifying precedent of destroying fully completed art for a boardroom spreadsheet. We celebrate the grassroots fan campaign that held the line, and how indie heroes Ketchup Entertainment stepped into the arena with a $50 million bid to rescue the worldwide rights from the vault. Finally, we analyze the brilliant animation mechanics of director Dave Green. By forcing Wile E. Coyote to stay flat, cell-shaded, and two-dimensional inside a live-action environment, the film beautifully honors the classic physics and Saturday morning comedic rhythm of the original Chuck Jones era. We break down the human side of the ledger, praising Will Forte's earnest, high-pitched desperation as a small-time billboard lawyer and John Cena's absolute scene-stealing performance as a slick, menacing, unhinged corporate defense vanguard who treats consumer safety as entirely secondary to shareholder returns. If you love movie reviews, behind-the-scenes Hollywood drama, and unfiltered consumer advocacy, make sure to hit that SUBSCRIBE button and turn on notifications! ⚙️ PRODUCTION CREDITS:🎙️ Studio: A Wood Road Studio Production 🎵 Theme Music: Custom audio soundscapes provided entirely by the legendary Mindwipe [extract-clarify-key-attributes] 🌐 JOIN THE ELITE FORCE ECOSYSTEM: 🎬 YouTube (Our Main Hub): youtube.com 🎧 Apple Podcasts: apple.com 🎵 TikTok: tiktok.com 🐦 X (Twitter): x.com ❤️ This episode, and the new era of the Elite Force Podcast, is lovingly dedicated to our late co-host and brother, Charlie, and our late dad.
