A full walkthrough of the RAV4 instrument gauge cluster settings so you can setup the 12-inch display your way.
If you're considering a RAV4 or just got one, the amount of options in the instrument gauge cluster can feel overwhelming. In this video I walk through the settings on the 12-inch display, including how to switch between the three main views, add or remove info in the center of the gauges, and clean things up if the default layout feels too busy.
Using the arrow-and-OK control to the left of the steering wheel, I show how to cycle through display setups (tire pressure, trip distance, trip time, average miles per gallon), reach the meter settings menu, and adjust language, units, and widgets. I also cover meter type options — the single speedometer-only view, the dual gauge layout with eco/power, and how to put the center information you actually want (compass, road, drive info, EV driving ratio, eco zone, average MPG) front and center.
Then I compare the meter style looks — tough, sporty, smart, and casual — and show what each looks like with the extra info stripped out for the most simplified, easy-to-read cluster possible. This is the setting I hadn't seen anyone demonstrate, and it made a real difference for newer drivers in my family who found the smaller, busier 7-inch cluster hard to read. This is the XSE. Questions? Drop them in the comments and I'll help where I can.
