China left U.S. soybeans off its new tariff-cut list while Brazil keeps paying just 3%.
13% vs 3%: that is the tax gap between American and Brazilian soybeans in China.
China's new tariff-cut list covers corn, wheat, beef, dairy, soybean oil and soybean meal. Whole soybeans are not on it, and U.S. beans still face 13% while Brazilian beans pay 3%. This video shows who is actually buying American soybeans (state companies, not private crushers), what a Chinese crusher says it already booked from Brazil, and the one price that explains the whole thing. We also look at the Brazilian side of the trade and what to watch next: USDA export sales, the WASDE report on October 9, and January 10.
