About the album: …Of Winter and Past is the second album by the melodic death metal band Burning The Forgotten, marking a new chapter with the addition of drummer Carlos Salgado. The album’s themes revolve around winter and the struggle to endure life through nature’s harsh elements, drawing an analogy to the arrival of spring and the transformation that comes with changing seasons. It also explores nostalgia for the past and a longing for change while pushing forward in search of one’s path. Through confronting what lies ahead, the listener is reminded that while the past is important and should not be forgotten, one can only move forward and toward a future that arrives faster than expected. The album’s production aims for a natural, organic sound, deliberately avoiding the overproduced, sterile, and ultra-clean aesthetic common in modern metal. All instruments were performed by musicians and recorded through analog equipment. No sample replacement or virtual amps were used. Musically, the band expands its sound with new elements, incorporating bouzouki and baglama, along with gongs, bells, and a more medieval, dark, and epic atmosphere.
