Benny Sings on Marvin Gaye, Rush Hour and Brian Wilson | Red Bull Music Academy

Tim's parents were hip to all of it, not forgetting the Carpenters. Little did they know that 27 years later, their son would come full circle and re-invent himself as Benny Sings to debut his own version of incandescent pop in major keys. Lush, swinging hip-hop-influenced neo-soul with a singer-songwriter edge and a six-piece band for live shows. As he told us at the 2004 Red Bull Music Academy, he first experimented with electronic breakbeats and his faithful guitar before learning that the key to a powerful piece is to make every note count. ► https://www.redbullmusicacademy.com/l... #BennySings #TimvanBerkestijn #RedBullMusicAcademy --- TOPICS: 10:05 - Singing 31:18 - Brian Wilson 51:59 - Rush Hour 55:28 - Marvin Gaye 1:02:30 - Champagne People MUSIC: 01:53 - Benny Sings - "So Light"    • Benny Sings - So Light   25:50 - Benny Sings - "We Ain't Going Nowhere"    • Benny Sings - "We Ain't Going Nowhere"   35:20 - Benny Sings - unknown 36:49 - Alessi Brothers - "Oh Lori"    • Oh Lori - with lyrics   41:05 - Carpenters - "Close To You"    • Carpenters - Close to you   42:57 - Benny Sings - Follow The Light    • Benny Sings - Follow the Light   The Red Bull Music Academy is a global music institution committed to fostering creativity in music.
