Elvis Presley Live September 3, 1972 — Midnight & 3AM Shows (Rare Audience Recordings)

On September 3, 1972, Elvis Presley performed both the Midnight Show and the legendary 3 A.M. Show at the Las Vegas Hilton. Preserved on rare audience recordings, these two performances offer a glimpse into the atmosphere of late-night Las Vegas, capturing Elvis as he continued performing well into the early morning hours. The recordings retain the natural room ambience, audience response, and spontaneous interaction that accompanied these after-hours shows. Heard together, the Midnight and 3 A.M. performances provide an unusually intimate document of Elvis' 1972 Las Vegas engagement. Alongside familiar songs are moments of banter, improvisation, and the unexpected turns that could emerge as the night continued. The surviving audience tapes have been presented with care to preserve their original character while allowing greater clarity for modern listening. Together, these recordings capture a side of Elvis' Las Vegas career that can only be appreciated through the audience perspective. Presented here as a combined document of the September 3 performances, these late-night recordings offer a rare glimpse of Elvis in Las Vegas during the early hours of September 4, 1972.
