Full version of Don Kaiser’s four-part interview. Don Kaiser was drafted in 1966 and trained with his unit at Fort Hood, Texas, for one year. In October 1967, his unit deployed to Vietnam aboard the USNS Upshur. On February 8, 1968, his company was ambushed at the village of Lo Giang, resulting in 19 killed and 35 wounded. Don was awarded the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star with Valor, and the Army Commendation Medal.
