The Boat | ‪@JesusLives‬​

Dear Jesus Lives Family, This Thursday evening, I will be preaching a message titled "The Boat" based on Matthew 14:28-31, where Peter stepped out of the boat and walked on water toward Jesus. We are living in a time when many people are searching for security, comfort, and certainty. Yet throughout Scripture, God has never called His people to live by comfort. He has called us to live by faith. Peter experienced the impossible because he was willing to leave the safety of the boat and trust Jesus. The boat represents the things we cling to for security: routines, finances, relationships, careers, fears, and even our own understanding. While these things may make us feel safe, they can also keep us from experiencing everything God has prepared for us. During this message we will explore several important truths: • Jesus often calls us beyond our comfort zone. • Faith begins where comfort ends. • Fear will always try to keep us in the boat. • Even when we stumble, Jesus does not abandon us. • Many people admire faith from a distance but never take the step of obedience themselves. • Some of God's greatest miracles are waiting on the other side of our willingness to trust Him. One of the most powerful truths from this sermon is this: "You cannot walk on water while holding onto the boat." Perhaps God is calling you into deeper faith. Maybe He is asking you to step beyond fear, spiritual complacency, compromise, or past disappointments. Whatever your situation may be, this message will encourage you to fix your eyes on Jesus and trust Him with the next step. I believe the Lord wants to challenge us as a church to move beyond merely watching miracles and begin living a life that requires faith. Peter may have stumbled, but he experienced something the others only watched from a distance.
