Namaste! A short film showcasing the morning routine of people in villages of Haryana. In cities we have drinking water readily available through pipelines and water bottles, but I wanted to show how in villages, the son of the family wakes up early morning everyday takes his bicycle to nearest handpump or well to get drinking water for the whole family. The beauty of this duty is that morning starts with beautiful views of fields, greeting the village people and quite and peace. Back in the days women used to walk to the wells to get water, but now its mostly the men who do this job as most of the hand pumps are far outside the village. The practice is getting lost as modernisation is reaching the villages and people have started using RO filters and some people have converted this opportunity into business by supplying RO water daily at doorstep. But still there are people who prefer to stick to the usual morning routine of getting water from hand pumps.
